Beta Club Guidelines and Requirements for Initiation

1.   GRADES – You must maintain a 90% or above average in all subjects.

Probation- If you fail to meet the grade requirements, you will be placed on probation status for a nine week period.  If your grades return to the required level, you will be reinstated in good standing.  If, however, you still fail to meet the required level, you will lose your Beta Club eligibility for this school year.  You will need to continue attendance and participation in meetings and activities.

2.  ATTENDANCE – You must attend scheduled Beta meetings.  Meetings begin at 7:50 on the second and fourth Thursday mornings of each month. (In the cafeteria)  Give the sponsors a written excuse.  The excuse must be an acceptable reason for being absent.

Check the calendar and listen to announcements.

3.  SERVICE PROJECTS – You are expected to help with service projects.  You are required to receive a minimum of 3 hours per semester.  You will receive a service hour sheet which must be filled out, signed and returned to the sponsors.

4.  DUES – The total cost is $25.00, due by January 13^th. The report cards go out on January 5^th. 

(We will only receive dues January 13-27)

DUES WILL NOT BE RETURNED.

Dues will be paid by CHECK. Please make the check payable to 6^th grade Jr. Beta Club MMS.  Place the check in a sealed envelope with the student’s name and homeroom teacher on the outside.  Write the student’s name on the check.  A receipt will be sent to the homeroom teacher to give to the student. Please give payments Mrs. Craft.

HOW DUES ARE SPENT: National Dues- $15.00 covers the 6^th, 7^th, & 8^th grade and are paid one time only. 

Local dues - $ 10.00 covers the local dues which are paid yearly.

Dues are not to be paid until January after the report cards go out.  Please do not send a check until Jan. 13-27!
